Corn Gone Crazy

I'm no farmer, but something seems a little crazy about the ear of corn on the right. What do you think?

      Most times you just shuck the corn and get on with cooking it. But when I saw this I wondered what's up...still have no idea but was interested to hear if anyone would know why this would happen.
